BPW: Napping Great Crested Grebe

On August 15th Arthur and I visited one of our favorite birding spots, Vogelplas Starrevaart. We spent some time watching birds from the blind. This Great Crested Grebe having a nap on the water was one of the birds we saw.

I love grebes and this one is a beauty! Nice photos Amy! I feel like I’m getting closer, wondering if the bird is going to wake.

Great photos. Does the bird have its eye just a little bit open in the first photo? Its completely closed in the last one.

Looks like a great place to take a nap- assuming you don’t get motion sickness AND there are no predators around…
